There isn’t a secret to being an excellent photographer. Keep shooting pictures, and get experienced at doing so. It’s not necessary that you develop or keep every shot yourself, particularly with digital. Gaining experience with photography will allow you to use hindsight to get a better view.

Confine yourself within certain limits, to breed creativity. Focus on specific concepts to narrow the scope of your photography. There isn’t any reason to add more elements or clutter to your shots. Know what the focus of your shot will be and maintain a simplicity of message, so that it can be fully understood by viewers.

In many pictures, people will be looking directly into the camera. A great and unique picture is to have the person you are photographing look off in the distance at something. You could have them look at something in the frame, such as a person or flower too.

In life, people are trained to always create things that are almost perfectly even. Although perfection is considered a positive thing, you should bear in mind that centering a photo on its subject is not necessarily perfect. Consider placing the subject of your picture a little off-center. Beware of auto-focus features that lock in to whatever is in the center of the lens. Override this by focusing manually, locking the focus before you capture the shot.

If you keep your subject in focus, your pictures will have fantastic composure, while reflecting your personal style. Your main subject should be at the center of your picture, unless you want to create a different effect. Do not worry about the background at first.
